Seven action packed weeks of
learning through a wide spectrum of hands on experiences

Each week will include hands-on crafts, ethnic cooking and lots of cultural experiences for the children. There will be singing, stories as well as bringing in many outside resources and using local facilities. You may sign up for any week, and any number of days (minimum of 2 per week).
Children will explore many different aspects of castles, princesses
and knights during a brief tour of Europe! There will
be opportunities for music and art from the Medieval and
Renaissance period while building castles and exploring
folklore around this theme .
Field trip—Bakerwoods in Ashford
Explore many aspects of our nations culture through song, stories, and dance. Maybe a journey to the Wild, Wild West or a tour of the oceans of our eastern and western borders.
Some of the adventures will include creating Mexican dishes for snack, exploring some of the dances and songs of the area and learning about some of the indigenous plants, animals and insects.
Journey through the Brazilian Rain Forest
and the mighty jungle where we will learn
about animals and insects of both areas
and learn music from the area.
Field trip—Northwest Park in Windsor
Explore the plains, mountains and customs of different African cultures as well as the wide variety of animals that roam the continent.
We will learn about the variety of animals that are
indigenous to Australia as well as some of the customs
of the aboriginal peoples. The campers will
explore the Great Barrier Reef.
Field Trip—Mystic Aquarium in Mystic
Join us as we tour places in Japan, China and India in an attempt to learn customs, songs and stories from these rich cultures.

John and Susan Leavitt are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment that encourages children to learn through play and discovery. They believe strongly in the importance of the arts during early childhood. John comes to PSA from positions in small and large corporations where he has worked in management and as a meteorologist. Susan’s background is in piano performance and music education. She has been teaching children of all ages for 40 years, most recently concentrating on music for young children.
The mission of Preschool of the Arts, Inc. is to provide a quality early childhood education for children beginning at age 3. The school uses a diverse, rich curriculum that nurtures the arts throughout all academic areas guiding children on a path of literacy and creativity. Our highly qualified, mature staff encourages each child at his or her individual developmental stage. We accomplish this in a lively child-care setting with flexible hours.
